Holladay Utah Restaurants
Centennial, CO - Egg Restaurants has announced the opening of its 88th restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is one of 88 franchise restaurants operated by the company in 19 US states.
Cotton Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch all day, which Klein describes as international cuisine inspired by his family's travels. Egg Restaurants offers casual and full breakfast and lunch and opens in the former Cotton Kitchen on the corner of Main and Main Streets in downtown Salt Lake City. The full service is the first of its kind in Utah and is operated by Klein and his wife and co-owner Jennifer Klein, as well as the company's first cook.
The extensive breakfast and brunch menu makes Egg Restaurant one of the most popular restaurants in Salt Lake City. High quality coffee, pure orange juice, fresh fruit and a variety of breakfast sandwiches make every meal at the Egg delicious and memorable.
To make the most of it, you really have to mix everything together and try all the elements together. This means that the salsa roja is served on the pork, tortilla chips and of course a generous portion of salsa.
The sandwich is not overly heavy, although I suggest adding some bacon ($2.00) and some maple sausage (# 2). I love it so much that I will probably try to repeat it on one of my next trips to Salt Lake City. Given what they do, I'd try the $10 pancake that comes with maple mascarpone whipped cream, which sounds incredible. I suggested adding bacon, 2 maple sausages and 2 tablespoons maple syrup.
I really enjoyed the braised pork, and if you're suffering from temperature problems, the spicy salsa roja is enough to warm you up for a minute.
The somewhat dry brioche Sammy ($11) benefited from the painstaking scraping of the Dijon aioli from the plate and spreading it on the sourdough, but it was pleasant. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy in some places (flavorful, if not in the shredded toppings), but despite the flavor, shredded chicken worked well. It clearly shows that Cotton Kitchen can produce a menu that is forward-looking, well executed.
